It's a good reminder that, despite all the terrible impact of opioid misuse and addiction, the most destructive drug in our society is still alcohol. I have no problem at all with those who drink responsibly (I have my glass of red wine with dinner for my heart health) but those who get behind a wheel drunk need to face the consequences. Parents need to stop making excuses for teenage drinking and send a clear message to their kids. Even if you can't stop it entirely, don't wink at it and rationalize by saying "they all drink at that age". I'll bet everyone of those arrested this weekend started as underage drinkers.
This INFURIATES me! We had our identity stolen and they filed a false tax return. The IRS could stop this VERY easily by require a PIN number when returns are filed electronically and requiring refunds to be MAILED to people's homes.
This is a classic case of OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY. If it was THEIR money, they would become more efficient in these matters. It's just despicable!
I have to rant here for a moment and let you all know that not only was this clearly a "campaign opportunity" but an offensively placed one at that. At the end of the parade every year the Town of New Castle does a small memorial ceremony. This year the ceremony included biographies of residents who had given their lives in service of their country, an invocation from one of the local Rabbis, a benediction by one of the local pastors, ...And a tap on the shoulder DURING THE CEREMONY from the campagn table.
Yes, while we listened to the stories of those who patrolled the DMZ in Korea and landed on Omaha Beach, we were asked to give our names and email addresses to support Hillary.
Yes, it's a free country, campaign where you want. But can you at least honor the people who gave you that right?
