SOMERS, N.Y. – The Somers Women’s Club’s annual sale of household items, jewelry, children’s clothing, toys, books and more is set for Saturday at Reis Park, rain or shine.

The tag sale has been an annual event in Somers for more than 20 years and grows a little bigger and more interesting each year. More than 40 vendors are on the slate for this year, and dozens of raffle prizes will be given away.

The raffle drawing starts about 3 p.m. Prizes include a round of golf for four at Somers Pointe Golf Club (including a cart and lunch), two tickets to the performance of your choice in the Schoolhouse Theater’s upcoming season, a $100 certificate to the Farmer & the Fish restaurant, an original painting of the Elephant Hotel by Somers native Tom Eustace and many other items.

“A lot of work goes into it, but it’s a lot of fun, and you get to meet a lot of people,” said co-Chair Susan Berkow. “Last year we raised over $10,000.” All of the proceeds go to help local charities such as Friends of Karen, A-Home and Autism Speaks.

The Somers Women’s Club tag sale, the club's largest fundraiser, runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Reis Park on Primrose Street (Route 139) in Somers.
