Decoupage Artist Holding Workshop At Somers Library

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Adults can play with scissors and glue while tapping into their inner artist at a decoupage workshop at the Somers Library.

The 17th century paper cutting technique was said to be a favorite of Marie Antoinette and was a 1970s craze that today continues as another art outlet among crafters.

The workshop is Saturday, July 9 and runs 10:30 a.m.-noon. There is no charge but pre-registration is required.

Participants should bring,

  • Glass vase, mason jar, wooden box or any item to decorate 
  • Brushes or sponge applicators 
  • Water jar (paper or plastic cup) 
  • Multicolored tissue paper
  • Paper photos
  • Mod podge
  • Ribbons
  • Rubber gloves 

The workshop will be held in the Program Room and presented by Judika Lieberman.
