Fundraiser To Benefit Somers Women's Club

SOMERS, N.Y. -- The Somers Women's Club will host its annual fund-raiser, "The Raffle Sale and Rent-A- Space Tag Sale" on Sept. 21.

In preparation for the event at Reis Park off Route 139, club members are busy selling raffles tickets and collecting like-new donations. The club is also seeking vendors; last year more than 50 participated.

Donations of soft-cover fiction, children's books, jewelry, like-new sets of kitchenware, small furniture items, toys and games, art, sets of dishes, sets of glassware, sets of flatware, craft items, collectibles and holiday items are needed.

There also will be raffle prizes, including a two-night ski vacation for two at Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center, a golf outing with cart for four at Mahopac Country Club, a unique hand-knitted afghan, a gift certificate to Mexican Shack, dining certificates to Traditions, Somerfields, Mahopac Diner and Who's Cooking, a hand-carved duck and butterfly by renowned local artist Dominck Caiati, a watercolor by local artist Tom Eustace, hairstyling by LaSpina Salon and tickets to Schoolhouse Theatre.
