Create three quick holiday needlepoint gifts at a worksop at Somers Library on Dec. 5 and 19.
The instructor will introduce the following three projects in each class. Instructors will provide a printed quote for you to embellish with an embroidered heart to then frame. Start a simple knitted scarf that can be completed in one afternoon and crochet a Christmas ornament.
Workshop will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on both days. You must bring your own supplies for each project. Details, supply list flyers and examples of finished projects will be on display in the library. Registration required.
A six part series called, Water-Soluble Oil Pastels and Water Colored Pencils will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Dec 7, Dec. 21, Jan. 1, Jan. 11, Jan. 25, and Feb. 1.
Join in an artistic adventure with water-colored pencils, water-colored oil pastels & ink for beginners to experts. Various techniques will be demonstrated and taught.
You must bring supplies to the first class. Supply list will be available at the library. There is a $20 fee that must be paid to the instructor on the first day of class. The Friends of the Somers Library presents a Holiday Concert & Sing-Along with the Joey D. Jazz Ensemble on Sunday, Dec. 13.
Registration is not required for this free concert. Seating will be on a first-come, first-seated basis.
