Chester R. Pajolek, 89, Fairfield Dentist

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Chester Richard Pajolek of Fairfield died Aug. 3 at the Carolton Rehabilitation Center at the age of 89. Pajolek was a dentist who practiced in Fairfield for 40 years.

Pajolek was born in Bridgeport on Dec. 24, 1921. He graduated from Harding High School in 1938 and attended Villanova University. He enlisted in the Army in 1942, serving in the Philippines as an assistant battalion surgeon during World War II. After the war he attended Marquette University, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1954.

Outside of his dental practice, Pajolek loved to read and was an active athlete. He played tennis while at Marquette on the university’s intercollegiate team. While in Fairfield he loved golf at H. Smith Richardson Gold Course, as well as skiing, bowling, fishing and sailing. But most of all he enjoyed the friendships he made through those activities.

Pajolek is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helena, as well as his sons, Thomas and Michael, daughters-in-law Marcie Gow Pajolek and Lisa Goff Pajolek, and his six grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chester's honor to a charity of your choice.
