NORTH WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. John Junker and Matt Manfredi were elected to fire commissioner positions in the North Castle South Fire District No. 1 in North White Plains Tuesday night.
Junker and Manfredi received 13 and 15 votes, respectively. Both ran unopposed.
Junker won a five-year term and Manfredi, an unexpired three-year term. Manfredi took over for Ted Gerster, who resigned his position in April 2010 and will fulfill the term with his victory in the election.
"It was a light turnout but it usually is unless there's something of greater interest on the ballot," fire commissioner John Soloman said.
