Eastchester Resident Charged With Driving With A Suspended License

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged a 46-year-old man from Eastchester with the unlicenced operation of a vehicle, officials report.

A patrol officer allegedly observed a gold jeep travel through a steady red light at the intersection of the Taconic State Parkway North exit ramp and Route 6 on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 10:40 a.m., police report.

The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as James J. Romeo Jr., according to police.

A computer check at the scene revealed that his New York State driver's license was allegedly suspended, police report.

Romeo was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters; he was charged with aggravated unlicenced operation third degree, an unclassified misdemeanor, along with a red light violation, officials report.

After processing, Romeo was issued a traffic summons in reference to the charges, then released on $100 bail, according to police.

He is scheduled to answer the charges in Yorktown Court on Dec. 15, officials report.
