Tetsu and Linda Amagasu will talk about the history of Hohokus Township and its evolution to Ho-Ho-Kus (where did the hyphens come from?).
Items of interest will include the racetrack and its French connection, as well as the hyphens in Ho-Ho-Kus, a president, a well-known actor and a famous trio. In addition, the causes and effects of the “boroughitis” phenomenon that helped transform Hohokus Township and much of Bergen County will be discussed.
The talk will take place in the upstairs gallery of the Mahwah Museum. Seating is limited; advance reservations are recommended. Gallery Talks are free with museum admission.
To reserve, email gallerytalks@mahwahmuseum.com or call 201-512-0099.
