YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Yonkers man with a suspended license was drunk when his sedan crossed into oncoming traffic on 9W and slammed into a truck, Tenafly police said.

Witnesses said that Joaquin Sanchez, 30, was passing cars on the southbound shoulder and in the northbound lane with his 2008 Chrysler Seabring before the crash around 7:30 a.m. between the Clinton Avenue traffic signal and the Alpine border, Police Capt. John Trainor told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The driver of the 2005 International Persistent Construction truck tried to swerve to avoid it but couldn’t, Trainor said.

Officer Hector Olmo charged Sanchez with reckless driving, DWI, driving with a suspended license and not wearing a seatbelt and taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a cut on his head, the captain said.

The trucker refused medical attention, he said.

Police had to close down 9W for an hour in both directions so the crash scene could be cleared and investigated.
