Learn About Edwardian Fashion At Somers Library

KATONAH, N.Y. – Friends of the Somers Library are presenting a “History of Edwardian Fashion” with Denise Vanaria at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Somers Library, 82 Primrose St., Katonah.

Join Vanaria for a fun and informative afternoon as she focuses on proper Victorian/Edwardian wardrobe for the Victorian/Edwardian gentleman and lady, as well as etiquette rules of the day. Learn about different ensembles required for each appointment throughout one’s day. Also included will be corset training, calling cards, the language of the fan and courtship.

Period mannequins representing different stages of dress will be on display. Also on display will be a Gibson Girl couple from Vanaria’s vast collection of Edwardian dolls wearing miniatures of her wardrobe.

Registration is not required for the free event, but seating is limited and is offered on a first-come, first-seated basis. No seats may be saved or reserved and no standing is permitted.
