Leading the way is a free Sunday, June 7 concert from the R.J. Storm and Old School Bluegrass Band, based in Beacon. The group will perform at 2 p.m. on the Reis Park stage, weather permitting. If weather becomes an issue, the concert will move inside to the program room.

Voice actor Alan Sklar, a veteran of more than 200 audiobooks, will read Lawrence Block's “Hillards Ceremony,” from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, June 8. 'Ceremony' is about an American foreign service worker in West Africa whose experience with a 'witch doctor' fosters personal growth. Registration is required.

Author Linda Dahl will present “Loving Our Addicted Daughters Back To Life” from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11. Dahl wrote a book of the same name about her experience as a mother of a daughter whose experimentation with marijuana and pills led to a heroin addiction.

She will cover a handful of topics, including addiction research. There will be a Q&A session after her presentation. Registration is required.

There also will be an all-day AARP Defensive Driving course from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 29. The fee is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. Pre-payment is required and early registration is suggested (online registration is not available). AARP members are asked to put their membership number on checks, which should be made out to AARP and submitted to the library's reference desk. Refunds won't be given if you cancel June 29 or if you don't attend.

All registrants are asked to bring a valid driver’s license, bag lunch, beverage and pen.

To register for events, go online to somerslibrary.org or call (914) 232-5717.
