SOMERS, N.Y. -- Free SAT Study Sessions for Reading and Math April's list of programs for students and adults at Somers Library.
The reading and math sessions for teens are Saturday, April 2 from 10 to 11 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to noon, respectively.
The Reading Study Session uses pages from one of the College Board's official practice tests from the new book, "The Official SAT Study Guide." Instructor Mike Goodman will demonstrate reading techniques and show how to answer the reading questions. Then students will be given a reading quiz consisting of one or two passages to read, and they will answer the questions. Finally, there will be a review and explanation the answers.
For the Math Study Session in the second hour, Goodman will demonstrate some math problems, emphasizing techniques. The students will next get a quiz, and then finally there will be a review and explanation of the answers.
Goodman, owner of the Learning Miracle, has over 16 years as an SAT tutor and regularly takes the SAT, often obtaining a perfect score.
