The guest speaker will be Dr. Lola Margulies, a longtime commission member and Holocaust survivor.
The commission will also display various artistic creations made by 10th-grade students from both North Salem and Somers high schools. These projects were created by students during their human rights unit and showcased at the annual Yom HaShoah service that is held each spring.
The Somers Holocaust Memorial Commission was founded with the goal of educating our children to never forget the horrors of the Holocaust and other genocide, and to promote the teaching of human rights in schools. The commission supports a human rights collection of books, tapes and DVDs at the Somers Library.
The presentation is free, and registration is not required.
