Somers Library Holds Poison Control, Prevention Presentation

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Somers Library is holding a poison control and prevention presentation by Andrea Elam, community health educator for the New York City Poison Control Center, on Thursday, March 26 at 6 p.m.

This program will discuss the three-legged stool of safety: safe usage, storage and disposal of potential poisons and medications.

The presentation will include an overview of the poison center; the hotline number and its services; how to safely store potential poisons and medications in the home; how to understand medication labels; and recommendations for safe disposal of potential toxins and unused/expired medications. There will be a Q&A at the end of the presentation.
