SOMERS, N.Y. -- Somers Library will be holding children's events at the library on Saturday, Jan. 25 through Friday, Jan. 31.
Here's the schedule of events:
Saturday Jan. 25:
Candy Bingo: For Kindergarden to fifth-grade children. 11 a.m. to noon.
Lego Building: Use legos to create a masterpiece. Ages 6 and older, 1 p.m.
Monday Jan. 27:
Kindergarden Book Club: Stories will be read, games and crafts will be held and snacks available. For children in Kindergarten only. This program is limited to Somers residents. 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Stepping Back In Time, Making Local History Come Alive: Learn more about local history with Somers Town Historian Jane Smith. Conference room from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28:
10:30 and 11:30 Baby Time: For babies ages 6 month to 2 years with caregivers. This program is limited to Somers residents. Held at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Preschool Story Time for Ages 4 and 5: This program is limited to Somers residents. Registration helpful. 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
First-Grade Book Club: Stories will be read, games and crafts will be held and snacks available. 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Chess Club: For Grades 3-5. Space available for three additional students. Learn chess and play games. No experience necessary. Led by SHS Sophomore Adam Circle. Registration required. 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Held in the conference room.
Wednesday, Jan. 29:
Second-Grade Book Club: Stories will be read, games and crafts will be held and snacks available. 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 30:
Toddler Story Time: Children ages 2 and 3 with caregivers. This program is limited to Somers residents. 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Preschool Story Time For Ages 4 and 5: This program is limited to Somers residents. 1 p.m to 1:45 p.m.
Fourth-Grade Girls Club: A book is read each month then discussed at the next meeting. Meetings include a snack and activities. Bus transportation is available from SIS, Bus N., 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 31:
Toddler Story Time: Children ages 2 and 3 with caregivers. This program is limited to Somers residents.10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
All events are held in the program room, unless otherwise noted. Story times include songs, stories, games and crafts.
