Somers Lions Club Plans Seasonal Weekend Events

SOMERS, N.Y. -- A trail of terror is among two events that Somers Lions Club has planned for the weekend of Friday, Oct. 17 through Sunday, Oct. 19.

The trail of terror will be held on the Upper Reis Trail, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Bring a flashlight and be prepared to be scared. Not recommended for children under 6.

Tickets are $5 and are available at Somers Mobil. For more information, email www.somerslionsclub.org.

A day of fun-filled seasonal activities can be expected at the Lions Club's Fall Festival, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 19 from noon to 6 p.m. at Reis Park.

There will be a pumpkin patch, face painting, games, a bounce house, fingerprinting (a safe child program).

A disc jockey will be providing music.

The festival will also offer a Farmers Market.

For the animal lovers, get a chance to meet Guiding Eyes for the Blind's dogs and puppies from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be pony rides from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and a horse-riding demonstration from 4 p.m. to  5 p.m.
