Murphy Brothers Contracting of Mamaroneck, along with Gibbons Digital Consultants from Bronxville, will host Michael Stein of Houzz.com to discuss all phases of home improvement. Houzz.com is a popular website for homeowners planning for their next remodeling or renovation project.

The party will be held at Westchester Magazine at 2 Clinton Ave., Rye. It runs from 5:30-7 p.m., and adult beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served. The fee is $20, which will benefit the Food Bank for Westchester. Homeowners can register online by clicking here

“We’re delighted to host this event,’’ said Michael Murphy, director of new project development at Murphy Brothers Contracting. “We're grateful that our industry-leading partners have agreed to be sponsors for this very special series of events. We have a great relationship with them, and they've all done presentations with us in the past. And because we’re big supporters of the Food Bank for Westchester, we wanted to include them as our nonprofit beneficiary.”

Homeowners can get design ideas and assemble a team of architects, interior designers or contractors. Stein, a member of the community team at Houzz, will discuss projects and show homeowners how to navigate the Houzz.com website to find designers and contractors to work on their homes.

Bridget Gibbons, CEO of Gibbons Digital, a social media marketing agency, said the Internet has dramatically changed the home remodeling business. Homeowners used to clip and save examples of work they wanted done. Now they’re able to browse websites like Houzz.com for ideas.

“As of July 2014, Houzz had more than 3.5 million photos of residential interior, exterior and landscape designs and over 23 million users. Houzz has become the go-to website to get design ideas, find professionals, ask questions, and read reviews,” Gibbons said. “People are not Googling and then looking at one website at a time to find professionals. They’re going right to Houzz.com.”

Besides the session with homeowners, Stein will also hold sessions the week of Sept. 9 for industry professionals on how to leverage Houzz to grow their businesses. The presentations will show architects, interior designers and others how to use Houzz and its integrated technologies to improve business efficiency and streamline communications. Industry professionals can register by clicking here

Sponsors include  Andersen Windows, Interstate + Lakeland Lumber, Klaff’s, Benjamin Moore, Aitoros Appliances, Soundworks Inc. and Westchester Home magazine. The Antique and Artisan Center in Stamford is hosting one of the events.
