Substance Abuse Council: 6:30 p.m. The council will meet at the Somers Town House, 335 Route 202, Somers.
Somers Zoning Board of Appeals: The meeting of the Somers zoning board is canceled.
Wednesday, Sept. 19
Boost Your Brain Power: Lunch at noon, followed by a 1 p.m. discussion of how the brain works and exercises for brain and memory enhancement. Presented by At Home in Somers. There is no admission charge but there is a $2 charge for lunch. It’s at the Van Tassell House on Route 139 in Somers.
Oktoberfest: 6 to 10 p.m. It’s a customer appreciation party on the patio at Croton Creek Steakhouse, with complimentary beer, wine, food and music. The steakhouse is at 4 W. Cross St. in Croton Falls.
Thursday, Sept. 20
Little Farmers: 10 - 11 a.m. or 1 - 2 p.m. Children ages 3 and 4 are invited to learn about Muscoot Farm’s animals through a hands-on experience. A different animal will be featured each week. Registration is required. The fee is $10 per child. To register, click here.
Cheerleaders’ Fundraiser: 5 to 9 p.m. Go to Patsy’s Pizza and support Somers High School cheerleaders. Ten percent of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the Somers High School varsity cheerleaders fund. Patsy’s Pizza is at Route 202 and Lovell Street in Somers.
Networking That Works: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Two career experts will explain how you can be more effective at networking to move your career forward and get more out of your job search. There is no charge. Somers Library, 82 Primrose St. in Reis Park.
Somers Open Space Committee: 7:30 p.m. The committee will meet at the Somers Town House, 335 Route 202, Somers.
