Somers Schools: Somers schools will dismiss 15 minutes earlier than usual.
CobbleStone Abstract's Charity Golf Outing: 10:30 a.m. CobbleStone Abstract will host a charity golf outing to benefit the veterans National Amputation Foundation and the SPCA. Somers Pointe Golf Club, 1000 West Hill Drive, Somers. Click here for more information.

Soccerfest: 7 a.m. The annual AYSO soccerfest takes place in Reis Park, Primrose Street, Somers. The rain date is Oct. 23. Following is the game schedule:

Let's Play it Forward: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Let's Play it Forward (LPIF) will collect gently used soccer (and other sports gear) at Soccerfest. Collection boxes will be at Primrose, Upper Reis Park and at Reis Pavillion. Tax deductible receipts are available. Somers Library: The Somers Library is closed on Saturday, Oct. 13.
Fall Festival at Harvest Moon Farm: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hayrides, face painting, cider doughnuts, a pumpkin patch, apple picking and live music are a few of the highlights at Harvest Moons Fall Festival. Harvest Moon Farm & Orchards is at 130 Hardscrabble Road, North Salem.
Lasdon Train Display: 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The annual holiday Lionel train display will pay special tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Westchester Parks Department. The show will be open weekends through October. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children 12 and under. Its at the main house in Lasdon Park and Arboretum, Route 35, Somers.
Register to Vote: noon to 9 p.m. The Board of Elections will have a table set up at the Somers Town House for last minute voter registration. The Somers Town House is at 335 Route 202.
Firemens Pasta Night: 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Its Pasta Night at the Somers Fire House. The suggested donation for a complete pasta meal is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for kids 12 and under. Children under 3 get to eat free. Its at the Somers Fire House on Route 202, near Heritage Hills, in Somers.
Sunday, Oct. 14
Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fresh produce, meats, cheese, soaps, candles, honey, maple syrup, flowers, fish and delicacies from local farmers and artisans are available. The Muscoot Farmers Market will continue every Sunday through October. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35 in Somers.

Fire Prevention Week Open House: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come to the Lincolndale Fire House and learn about fire safety and prevention. There will be tours of the station and firefighting apparatus, hands-on activities, demonstrations and the arrival of the Stat Flight Helicopter at 1 p.m. The Somers Volunteer Fire Department is at 119 Primrose St./Route 139 in Lincolndale.

Muscoot Autumn Celebration: noon to 3 p.m. Celebrate the fall season with an afternoon of music, games, hayrides and crafts, as well as blacksmithing demonstrations and a Bounty of Baskets in the main house. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35 in Somers.
Stories From the Front: 1 to 3 p.m. This free lecture by author Daniel Weinfield will cover Reconstruction and resistance in Post-Civil War Florida. Pre-registration is required. Call 914-864-7263. Its at the Westchester Military Museum in Lasdon Park, Route 35, Somers.
Scarecrow Invasion: 2 to 4 p.m. Somers Lea Bolotin will be one of the six featured artists displayed at Lyndhurst Castles greenhouse art show, which focuses on scarecrows. Some 400 three-dimensional scarecrows designed by schoolchildren will be scattered around the castle grounds as well. Lyndhurst Castle is at 635 South Broadway in Tarrytown.
Meet the Candidates: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Meet the Democratic candidates running for office in Somers. This free reception, open to all Somers residents, introduces candidates Sean Patrick Maloney, running for the U.S. House of Representatives, Justin Wagner, running for state Senate, Andrew Falk, running for state Assembly, and George Dieter, who is seeking a seat on the Town Council.
