Monday, Aug. 20

Storywalk Returns: All day. Children are invited take an outdoor walk to follow a story. At the end of the walk, there is a cookie waiting inside the library. The event continues daily for the next two weeks. It’s at the Somers Library, 82 Primrose St. in Reis Park.

Beaded Earrings Workshop: 3:30-6 p.m. Youngsters from sixth grade and up are invited to come in and learn to make their own earrings, with additional pairs to donate to local women’s shelters. Parents or guardians are also invited. There is no charge. It’s at the Somers Library, 82 Primrose St. in Reis Park.

Tuesday, Aug. 21

Somers Dog Park Fundraiser at The Pinnacle: Dine at The Pinnacle for lunch or dinner and the restaurant will donate 15 percent of your entire bill to the Somers Dog Park. Click here for a coupon. Meeting of the Substance Abuse Council: 6:30 p.m. The council will meet at the Somers Town House, 335 Route 202, Somers.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

Art Workshop for Adults: 10 a.m. to noon. This is the seventh in the eight-week course about pop-up books and how to make them. The course is limited to adults of 55 or older and is paid for by a grant from Creative Aging In New York State Libraries. It’s at the Somers Library, 82 Primrose St. in Reis Park.

Thursday, Aug. 23

A.R.G. Club Meeting: 3-4:30 p.m. Members of the Anime, Reading & Gaming Club will meet to enjoy Japanese Anime, talk about the books they are reading and play some games. The club is open to all middle and high school students. It’s at the Somers Library, 82 Primrose St. in Reis Park.
