“We’re excited to welcome the TasteNY program to the Grange Fair this year,” said Josh Davies, Grange Fair president. “This state-wide program, focusing primarily on small, local NY State vendors, ties in nicely with the theme of this year’s Fair: 'A Taste of the Farm,' and with the Grange Fair’s tradition for the past 90 years of showcasing our agricultural heritage.”
Governor Andrew Cuomo launched TasteNY in 2013 to promote the state's food and beverage industries at large public events. Vendors in the TasteNY tent include the following:
- The Bee Hive Farmstand, Modena, N.Y. (www.thebeehivefarmstand.com), honey and maple syrup products such as candy, jelly, BBQ sauce, skin creams, lotions and soap.
- EDesserts, Garnerville, N.Y. (www.edesserts.net), seasonal fruits and vegetables from local farms and natural, homemade baked goods such as scones, cakes and bars made with 100% organic wheat flour.
- Soukup Farms, Dover Plains, N.Y. (www.soukupfarms.com), maple candies, maple flavored hot sauce and all grades of syrups.
- Friends of Hilltop Hanover Farm, Yorktown Heights, N.Y. (www.hilltophanoverfarm.org), vegetables and herbs from an organic, working crop farm and environmental center free of pesticides and herbicides.
