SOMERS, N.Y. – Three members of the Somers community were honored Saturday when the Somers Land Trust dedicated an area of the Angle Fly Preserve to the memory of each.

The late Peter A. Burckmyer, a conservationist and founding member of the Somers Land Trust, was a guiding light in the town’s acquisition of the Angle Fly property. The trail formerly known as the yellow trail has been dedicated to Burckmyer, with a plaque denoting his contribution.
