Armonk Shelter Dogs Stay Warm Thanks To Saw Mill Club Towel Donation

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Giving back during the Christmas season is one of the easiest ways to spread joy and cheer, but who says that generosity can only be directed towards those with two legs? Mount Kisco's Saw Mill Club played Santa earlier this week for dogs at the Armonk Adopt-A-Dog, by donating dozens of towels to keep the animals warm this winter.

Thanks to the Saw Mill Club, foster dogs at Adopt-A-Dog will have warm bedding this fall.

Saw Mill East general manager Dan Sclafani was originally approached by shelter volunteer Julie Johnson, who was seeking to provide bedding for the shelter's dogs. "I was trying to think of how to put together a large donation and thought 'why not ask Saw Mill Club?' says Johnson. "They replied to my email right away and said they would be happy to donate. I picked up a huge garbage bag full of towels; Dan was so helpful and left the bag right at the front desk."

Making the decision to donate to the shelter was an easy one, says Sclafani. "I highly respect those who help forgotten and neglected animals. Adopt-A-Dog has been finding homes for animals since 1981. So when Julie Johnson asked if Saw Mill Club would be a friend, and help keep these animals warm, it was easy to say yes."

Animal rescue is a passion of Johnson, the proud owner of six rescue cats and dogs. "Being able to help out in any way is very rewarding, some of these dogs have come from really awful situations. It's just the best feeling to see the updates of all the dogs that have found their forever homes."
