Burger Barn In Somers Is Finalist in DVlicious Contest

SOMERS, N.Y. -- The burger, America's quintessential comfort food, can be dressed up (think Kobe beef, an expensive cheese, a housemade bun) or down (as in simple ketchup, maybe a pickle). Anyway you flip it, it's a winner.

The Burger Barn, 289 Route 100, Somers, (914) 276-0600

Years in Business: Two

Number of Burgers Offered: Owner Justin Tesone says it's close to 15, including specials, which are alternated every week.

Most Popular: “They’re all very popular, but as far as what sells the most it’s the standard cheeseburger,” said Tesone. Other standouts include The John Hancock Burger (their signature burger) with a fried egg, Amerian cheese and a brioche bun and The Kicker, fried fresh jalapeños, cheddar cheese, on a potato bun.

Secret "Sauce" Behind Burger's Flavor: The Burger Barn makes its own dressings and its patties are hand-packed. In addition, all burgers are a full half-pound of Angus beef.

Worth Special Mention: Different burgers each have their own sauces.
