Somers Lions Club Picks Winner Of 'Illuminate Somers' Contest

SOMERS, N.Y. --  Twenty-three houses participated in the first-ever "Illuminate Somers" contest run by The Somers Lions Club, but only three could be winners.

The results, posted late in the day on Friday, were 16 Flower Drive for first prize (and $300), 30 Sunderland Lane for second ($100), and 182 Tomahawk St. ($50) for third. the "Community Choice" prize award (a plaque) was also awarded to 30 Sunderland Lane. 

The voting included input from more than 500 community tallies, along with a panel of judges that made their decisions based on five criteria: "most illuminated," "most traditional," "most original, "most holiday spirited," and "most use of objects."

"We will definitely do this again," said Lions President Herb Reimann, who said everyone had a lot of fun.
