The inspections will also be done by Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies in Putnam Valley and Cold Spring. In an attempt to educate the community on safe boating, officers will advise boaters of required safety equipment and boating regulations in New York State.

Inspections are completely voluntary and a great way to kick off boating safety month.

Inspection locations:

  • June 9: Mahopac Marina, 897 South Lake Blvd, Mahopac, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • June 10: MacDonald Marina, 1 Marina Drive, Mahopac, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
