Celebrate Christmas At Somers' St. Luke's Church

SOMERS, N.Y. – Somers’ historic St. Luke’s Episcopal Church offered comfort and sustenance to all distressed members of the Somers community during the recent hurricane. Now it invites everyone to stop by and enjoy some of its Christmas musical programs.

At the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday, Dec. 23, the adult and youth choirs will sing traditional Christmas carols and Graham Ellis’s “There Is No Rose.” The voices will be accompanied by the distinguished von Beckerath organ.

On Monday, Dec. 24, at the 7 p.m. service, the choral program will feature “The Angel’s Carol” by John Rutter, as well as Bach’s “Cello Suite No. 1,” performed by Olivia Ottinger.

At Monday’s 10:30 p.m. service, the popular “Gesu Bambino” will be performed by choir and organ, with violin solos by Jemmin Chang. The St. Luke’s String Quartet, featuring Ali Robeson and Jerray Chang on violin, Jemmin Chang on viola and Olivia Ottinger on cello, will also perform.
