Helen Hoffarth, 85, of Somers

SOMERS, N.Y. – Helen M. Hoffarth of Somers died May 4 at White Plains Hospital Center. She was 85.

Hoffarth was a retired accounting supervisor for New York Telephone Co. in White Plains, and a former longtime resident of Valhalla.

She was born Feb. 17, 1927 in Yonkers to Charles and Lauretta Oakley Schatz. She was a member of the Katonah Women's Club and the Lewisboro Senior Citizens.

Hoffarth was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1979. She is survived by two sons, Charles (Mary) Hoffarth, of Fort Salonga, N.Y., and Kenneth Hoffarth, of Valhalla; two daughters, Kathleen (Richard) Alfano, of Southlake, Texas, and Joanne (Michael) Dignelli, of Katonah; and five grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla. Hawthorne Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
