Katonah Perfumer Kiori Supports Rockland Family Fundraiser

KATONAH, N.Y.- Lisa Wallos is a creative entrepreneur and Perfumer of KIORI, a high end, luxury perfume oil brand that is causing quite a stir. She has spent the last eight months introducing KIORI to the world but her most urgent passion is to assist a Rockland County family as part of a fundraiser Saturday, August 16.

Katonah partners David Cantor and Lisa Wallos are contributing proceeds from their website sales to help a Rockland County family whose child will undergo surgery.

Wallos, a Katonah resident and creator of the niche fragrance brand and her brother and business partner David Cantor, will donate 50 percent of online sales of KIORI through Sept. 1 to assist the family of 12- year- old Nicholas Seeley, who will be undergoing a 20 hour spinal surgery.

"I've been creating scents for as long as I can remember as a hobby, but I've worked in the field of  Special Education for over 20 years through NYS Early Intervention Programs," Wallos said. "The individual work with severely disabled children in their homes enabled me to see first hand the anguish and challenges families face.  When I heard about Nicky and his devastating condition and of the fundraiser,  I felt I needed to do something."

Nicholas has cerebral palsy, ongoing seizures and other medical conditions, which require full-time care.  He is due to have a 20 hour long and extremely risky surgery to help with his scoliosis and his father will have to take 3 months off from work to take care of Nicky after his surgery.

With KIORI positioned in the highest end beauty and clothing boutiques in the tri-state area and a website mykiori.com, which serves both national and international customers, the reviews are now beginning to come in. Recently KIORI was featured in Fragrantica.com, a leading perfume authority and online magazine for the perfume community. Fragrantica.com compared Lisa's work to the best in the business. She hopes the praise motivates and provide confidence to anyone interested in buying a bottle of perfume oil to help the Seeleys.

"I hope those who purchase KIORI see beyond the beautiful scent. This is a purchase that will make a difference to a family," Wallos said.

Log onto mykiori.com and type "Nicky Seeley" next to your name and address at checkout. The fundraiser will be held on Aug. 16, at  8 p.m. at the Park Side Tavern, Pearl River.
