Melton joined the church in November and his official Mass of Installation will take place on Thursday at 7 p.m. at All Saints' Church, 300 Harrison Ave., Harrison.

The Rt. Rev. Allen Shin, Bishop Suffragan of New York, will preside, and the Rev. Margaret Rose, Deputy for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relationships of the Episcopal Church, will preach. All are welcome.

Melton's experience in ministry has included programing and fundraising, growing and expanding a young adult ministry at a large parish, helping a small parish engage its community, and most recently interim ministry in Somers.

Before going to seminary, Melton taught middle school social studies. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Fordham University.

He is married to Heather Melton, who is also a priest, serving on the staff of the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. They have 2-year-old twin daughters, Lucy and Carrie. The Melton family will be moving into the Rectory next month.

Melton is a Colorado native who loves hiking and skiing and is excited to join All Saints'.

“In the last few weeks, my family and I have received such a warm welcome at All Saints," he said. "We have been impressed by the care that the parishioners show to each other, and we have been delighted to see that they really believe that all are welcome at All Saints. All Saints is a great church for anyone who wants to feel like they are part of a community that knows them, and supports them, while also seeking to reach out to those who are in need outside of the church."

“In the year ahead, I am looking forward to living in Harrison and getting to know the community. I'm also looking forward to building on All Saints’ strengths, such as our service to those who are in need through the Carver Center and our music program with its exciting concert series, Concerts at the Saints.”

Founded in 1898, All Saints' Church is a historic Episcopal church in the heart of Harrison. All Saint’s has many community-based programs, including Webster Avenue Nursery School, Concerts at the Saints, Thrift Shop and various volunteer and outreach programs for those in need within the community.
