SOMERS, N.Y. - The Friends of the Somers Library annual membership drive is under way.
Formed in 1979, the organization over the years has raised funds through membership, donations and book sales.
It also has funded many of the programs that are hosted at the library, including educational classes for children, teens, and adults, as well as entertainment and musical events.
The Friends of the Library has also provided financial support to the library for purchases of new furniture, large print books, express books, movie licenses, new e-readers, and snacks and rewards for the children’s programs.
It is a fully tax deductible 501c organization. Annual dues are $20/individuals, $50/ patron, $100/sponsor.
Notices have been sent out to all current members along with renewal applications.
New members can pick up forms at the Somers Library on Route 139/Primrose Street in Reis Park. Or you can send your check to Friends of the Somers Library, P.O. Box 443, Somers, N.Y. 10589. Please include your name, address and e-mail address.
