Somers Teen Ryan Lowe Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Ryan Paul Lowe recently received recognition at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor.

Ryan, 17, the son of Jim and Chris Lowe, earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a former member of Westchester Putnam Council, Troob No. 376. Somers Town Supervisor Rick Morressey presented Lowe with a plaque commemorating his achievement.

Morressey noted that "the rank of Eagle is the highest rank of service and is emblematic of the enduring value of good citizenship," according to a press release Morressey declared Sunday, March 30 to be "Ryan Paul Lowe Day" in the town of Somers.

The ceremony took place at The Forman School in Litchfield, Conn., where Ryan is a senior.

"He persevered as a 'Lone Scout' and received lots of support from his teachers and friends at Forman," said Chris Lowe.

Sixteen members of his former troop traveled to Forman to witness Ryan's achievement. Seven other Eagle Scouts were present and joined Ryan on stage to affirm their pledge to the values of Scouting.
