8th Annual Hudson River EagleFest
Saturday, 9 a.m., continuing throughout the day (weather permitting). Teatown Lake Reservation is sponsoring a full day of activities centered on the eagle population of the Hudson Valley. There will be guided and independent viewings, bus tours, storytelling, childrens programs and activities, bird walks and displays. The suggested donation is $5 per person. Clay Silver Jewelry
Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Teens and adults can learn to create sculpted silver jewelry by hand. The material behaves like clay and is fired in a kiln but the end product is 99.9 percent silver. Students will create several pieces to be fired and collected at a later date. Silver and materials are included and there will be a break for lunch. The fee is $140.
Remembering Ricky Nelson
Saturday 8 p.m. A unique multi-media presentation by Nelsons twin sons, Matthew and Gunnar. You will see video footage of the Nelson family and interviews with celebrities influenced by Ricky Nelson, and get to hear the sons perform many of their fathers hits. The event marks the 25th anniversary of Nelsons death in a plane crash. Tickets are $35 to $65.
Verdis Aida on Film
Sunday 1 p.m. Zubin Mehta conducts Verdis most popular opera at Florences Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, with a cast including Luciana DIntino, Hei He and Marco Berti. Sung in Italian with English subtitles. The film runs two hours and 55 minutes, plus intermissions. Tickets are $20 and are available at the door a half-hour prior to show time.
