LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- Tensions ran high at a recent meeting of the Lewisboro Planning Board on plans for a proposed 46-unit housing development, according to a report by The Lewisboro Ledger.

The Lewisboro Planning Board voted recently to assume lead agency status for an affordable housing application in Goldens Bridge. At an earlier meeting, planner John O'Donnell gestures towards a sketch of Wilder Balter's proposed Route 22 project.

Although it was not a public hearing, the meeting in Cross River drew a large crowd that was likely swelled by an email blast containing a photo of a decrepit multifamily home and inferring that the Goldens Bridge project would include Section 8 housing, The Lewisboro Ledger reported.

John Bainlardi, who represents the developer, Wilder Balter Partners, says the affordable housing development would be built and managed by separate arms of the private company, according to The Lewisboro Ledger report.

Planners concluded their review of Wilder Balter's plan sketches by voting to assume lead agency status on the Route 22 project’s application, The Lewisboro Ledger story said.
