The ban went into effect at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Cuomo's office said.
The ban comes as a blizzard warning has been issued for the Hudson Valley, New York City and much of Long Island, according to Cuomo's office.
Cuomo's office added that Metro-North commuter rail service will be suspended beginning at noon in and out of Grand Central on Tuesday. Previous Daily Voice coverage on the Metro-North closure can be read here.
