Longtime co-owner Dante Renzi confirmed the sale of the deli to Sam Lee and the timeline to the change. Renzi and his wife, Judy, have owned the deli for 16 years, he said.

Renzi said that Lee, who lives in New Jersey, plans to move to Yorktown. Lee is not expected to make any changes to the staff or the menu, according to Renzi.

The deli is being sold due to retirement, according to Renzi. He and his wife, who are in their late 60's and live in Cortlandt Manor, will split their time between living in the area and living in Florida.

Dante's III is the third deli for the couple. Renzi recalls that their first was in Yonkers, while their second was also in Yorktown but located on Route 202. The current deli has been in its current location the whole time, he explained.

Renzi, who called the deli "very strong," says he will miss the customers and noted the relationship formed with them over the years. He also talked about the popularity of his deli with high school students, including from Yorktown, Lakeland and Somers.

Dante's III is located at 1804 Front St. in Yorktown Heights.
