State Police from the Somers barracks were dispatched to investigate the two-car crash on Route 202 on Sunday at approximately 9 p.m.

Following an investigation conducted by responding officers, it was discovered that a 2008 Toyota pick-up truck operated by Clint R. Herbert, 42, of Somers, New York, was traveling eastbound on Route 202.

A 2013 Ford Explorer, operated by Michele McIsaac, 62 , of Baldwin Place, was traveling westbound, state police said. Herbert failed to maintain his designated lane of travel and entered the westbound lane, striking the Ford head-on, state police said.

Herbert was transported to Putnam Hospital and pronounced deceased. McIsaac was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash was reconstructed by the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

The crash remains under investigation and it does not appear that alcohol or drug contributed to the cause of the crash.
