SOMERS, N.Y. - Kathleen Flynn, 77, died on Wednesday after a brief illness. Her long career in banking and finance began in the 1950s and she eventually retired as a Corporate Vice President of Citibank.
Mrs. Flynn was the widow of Joseph Flynn, a member of the New York City Police Department and later chief of the Long Island Railroad Police. She is survived by her sister, Mary Monahan of Tuckahoe and her brother, Edward Galligan of New Rochelle.
The family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 Route 6, Mahopac.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Josephs Church, 10 Croton Falls Road, Croton Falls. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne will follow the mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her memory to the New York Police and Fire Widows and Childrens Benefit Fund, 767 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10153.
