Former Rye City Manager Hired In New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Scott Pickup, the former Rye city manager who resigned his position amid allegations of theft at the Rye Golf Club, has been hired by the city of New Rochelle, according to LoHud.com.

Pickup was brought on as a deputy for the Department of Public Works at an annual salary of $125,000, LoHud.com reported. 

New Rochelle officials cited Pickup's extensive government experience as a major factor in his hiring but declined to comment on his connection to the Rye Golf Club scandal, LoHud.com said. 

Pickup was never charged in the scandal but resigned his position as part of an agreement, according to LoHud.com.
