Forum On Drugs, Heroin Set For Walter Panas High School

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The town of Cortlandt and Lakeland Central School District will hold a panel discussion on "Prescription Drugs and Heroin" on Wednesday, April 9 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walter Panas High School in Cortlandt Manor.

The evening will feature a panel of experts who will provide information and answer questions on critical issues, including:

  • Prevention strategies.
  • Treatment and overdose prevention options.
  • Information on how prescription drug abuse can lead to misuse, heroin use and addiction.

Panelists will include: Colleen Anderson, Cortlandt Coalition coordinator, town of Cortlandt; Sgt.  Brian Ferrone, New York State Police, Troop K, Zone 3; Danielle Gamar, student assistance counselor, Walter Panas High School; Robert Kelly, executive director, Westchester Intelligence Center, Westchester County District Attorney's Office; and Dr. Rachel Schoolcraft, psychiatrist, Addiction Treatment Services, Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.

Ellen Morehouse, executive director of the Student Assistant Services Corp., will be the moderator.
