SOMERS, N.Y. -- Here are the top stories from Somers this week:
- Whether it's Mount Kisco or Ossining or even Connecticut, individuals and businesses have no problem traveling to Somers Custom Framing . The Somers shop owned by local residents Ginny and Ken Ryan is thriving after winning a couple of Westchester Magazine awards for Best Place To Frame Art and strong word of mouth that has built a large customer base encompassing all of Westchester County and some businesses from Connecticut and Massachusetts.
- Somers artist Lynn Shulman hopes that when people look at her paintings they feel like they're in a fairy tale. Shulman's collection of watercolor paintings and drawings will be on display throughout August at the Somers Library . The Alabama-native's work has been inspired by the natural world from her travels and has been mixed with her imagination.
- Somers Manor Nursing Home has received accreditation for 2013 as a skilled nursing facility actively performing quality assurance and performance improvement activities. The accreditation, presented by independent accreditor, Providigm, LLC, demonstrates the facility continually is assessing its residents’ quality of life with regard to concerns such as pain, dignity, respect for resident choice and quality of care.
