Abels is NYSEG’s manager of community outreach and development. She has an broad background in electric operations, customer service, marketing and real property management.
In her current position, she is responsible for relationship development with local elected and municipal officials, government agencies, community organizations and business groups.
Abels has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pace University and is a candidate for a master’s degree in organizational leadership/emergency management from Mercy College.
She has volunteered over the years with the Brewster Central School District and the community. Notably, she served on the Town of Southeast Historic Sites Commission for over 20 years, and was formerly on the board of directors for the Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition.
Abels has two adult children and resides in Southeast with her husband.
