MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Students were evacuated from Mahopac High School on Monday as authorities investigated an apparent gas leak.The leak was reported to be at the back of the building where the supply line entered. First arriving fire and police officers secured the entrances to the campus, then assisted school staff with an orderly evacuation to the front of the school.

With the arrival of the representative from Central Hudson, the Fire Department was released and returned to quarters.
The Mahopac Falls Fire Department responded to the call along with the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.
