- New York State Electric and Gas asked its Westchester customers to be safe and conserve their electricity use as sweltering heat and humidity continued to bake the area during a heat wave .
- More than 60 tickets were issued in a six-hour period at FDR State Park in Yorktown Sunday, according to New York State Police. State Police in Somers conducted an "Occupant Safety Enforcement Detail" at the entrance of FDR State Park in Yorktown between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Sunday, according to a news release. The detail resulted in 61 tickets being issued, a majority for failure to wear a seat belt, according to the release.
- Virginia Hurley, of Somers, considered a top attention deficit hyperactivity disorder expert, spoke at the 14th International Adult ADHD Conference this week in Detroit, Mich.
