A worker at the Tappan Zee Bridge is in Nyack Hospital after being injured during a construction accident, according to the Tappan Zee Constructors.
Emergency responders rushed to the bridge a little before noon Monday to provide aid to a subcontractor for TZC who was injured while working, said Damien LaVera, spokesperson for TZC.
The employee was transported to Nyack Hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries, LaVera said.
"We will review the incident in detail and identify if any additional measures can be implemented to improve our operations and limit exposures in the future," LaVera said.
LaVera declined to say what caused the accident and how severely the employee was injured.
