Joseph G. Feeney, Somers Resident, Dies

SOMERS, N.Y. - Joseph G. Feeney of Somers passed away on Wednesday, surrounded by his devoted family. Feeney was born in Brooklyn and graduated Cum Laude from Mercy College, with a B. S. In Criminal Justice. He also held a Master of Professional Studies degree from Long Island University.

In 1955 he joined the New York City Police Department. After retirement he taught Criminal Justice at Mercy College and later, he worked at IBM in Armonk. He was a member of the U. S. Army Occupational Forces in Germany from 1948 to 1952.

Joseph Feeney is survived by his wife, Margaret, and his children, Kevin, Brian, Timothy and Kathleen. He is also survived by his sisters, Virginia Sheehan and Sheila Reiter, his brother, William, and seven grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother, John, and his sister, Joan Spadaro.

Friends may visit the family on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah. A mass will be celebrated on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 Croton Falls Road, Croton Falls, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the St. Joseph’s Church New Building Fund, P.O. Box 719, Croton Falls, NY 10519.
