Moose Hit On Taconic Parkway Just North Of Westchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- State wildlife biologists are examining the body of a female moose that was struck by a vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway just north of the Westchester County line on Monday, Dec. 2, according to LoHud.com

The moose was hit at approximately 4 p.m. on a section of the Taconic that runs through Clarence Fahnestock State Park in Putnam County, LoHud.com said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the animal was able to continue driving and wasn't on the scene. The moose was euthanized when it was discovered both of her back legs were broken, LoHud.com reported.
