New Castle Declares A State Of Emergency Because Of Snowstorm

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Town Supervisor Robert Greenstein and the town of New Castle has declared a state of emergency due to the snowstorm that is expected to last until late Tuesday.

The state of emergency is effective Monday at 6 p.m. 

During the emergency period, it is unlawful to park or leave a motor vehicle unattended on any street or highway. Under the direction of the police chief or Superintendent of Highways, any vehicle left in this fashion may be subject to being towed at the owner's expense. 

The state of emergency is in effect until Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6 a.m.
