New Restricted Hours For Somers School Tracks

SOMERS, N.Y. – The Somers School District has closed the outdoor tracks to the public during school hours as a result of enhanced security measures taken after the Newtown, Conn. school tragedy.

The tracks now are monitored by campus security officers and are reserved for students only during the following weekday hours:

  • Somers High School - 7:20 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Somers Middle School - 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Somers Intermediate School - 9 a.m. to 3:25 p.m.
  • Primrose Elementary School - 8:15 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.

The public is invited to use the tracks when school is not in session and weekends, vacations and the summer.
